• o g Horns entertain at v ariety Program
The MacKay Centre's fall programs are
well underway with October being an event-
ful month. Work on the handicapped lift got
underway and should be completed by
December. The MacKay Choristers have
started their Fall session and shuffleboard
is in full swing.
Our card party was held on Wednesday
the 14th of October. John and Alice Moss
won prizes for high score in euchre; Bill
Caesar and Ella Bogie won for high score in
500. Door prize went to Marguerite Horton.
Don McMillan arranged and presented a
very entertaining Variety Program on Oc-
tober 28. Floyd Herman from Robertson
School opened the evening's entertainment
with a selection of songs by the Robertson
Senior Choir. Their enthusiasm and love of
music was a pleasure to see and hear and
was enjoyed by all. The Fog Horns played a
variety of popular songs showing .us "Music
to Do Things By". Whether we are working,
playing, dancing or just setting the right
"mood" they soon made the audience
realize what an important part music plays

The Arthur Circle Auxiliary Harvest
Thankoffering meeting was held Octbber 19.
Decorations commemmorating Thanksgiv-
ing adorned the parlor for singing accom-
panied by Betty Coulter.
President Joyce Garrick offered a prayer
and Sandi Davidson's group took charge of
devotions. Grace Cameron read Psalm 92
and prayer followed with the hymn "We
Praise Thee 0 God."
Sandi introduced Karen Bruinsma who
delighted the group playing her harpsichord
and singing selections "Rocking In An Old
Rocking Chair" and "If That Isn't Love."
The secretary, Joyce Thorne, read her
report and treasurer Hazel McCreath in her
report said that the rummage sale held
recently was a success.
Plans were finalized to bake pies Nov. 4
and Ruth Jerry and Agnes Cutt,
(conveners) asked for donations of food and
helpers.
Stratford Huron Presbyterial Fall Con-
ference was discussed and Knox Church
Goderich hosted the event Oct. 28. The
ladies of this congregation looked after
beverages and dessert.
Sandi Davidson had a discussion about
Alzheimers Disease then Agnes Cutt read a
poem . "Street Scene" to conclude the
devotions.
Next meeting will be held Nov. 16 with
Suzanne German's group in charge.

Mount Forest spoke about the importance of
estate planning and of preparing a will. He
stressed the importance of having a lawyer
help with this and gave examples of dif-
ficulties that can arise if you do not plan
ahead. Mr. and Mrs. David Ralston showed
slides of Haiti. Their daughter and son-in-
law are missionaries in Haiti and the
Ralstons have visited them many times
over the past 12 years. The slides show the
beautiful scenery and also the people, many
who /live in very poor conditions. The Fog
Horns closed the evening's program with a
short comedy routine entitled '`Little Bob
Riding Hood" a modern version of the old
fairy tale done the Fog Horns own unique
way!
Our `Senior Keep Fit Classes' resume on
Monday, November 2nd at 10 a.m. Classes
will run every Monday and Friday from 10
a.m. until 11 a.m. The six week session is $8
for members, $10 for non-members
Our movie and pot luck will be held on Fri-
day, November 6th. We will be holding it in
the evening starting at 6 p.m. This is due to
the construction of the lift.
On November 9th, Angela Kaptein will be
at MacKay Centre to demonstrate how to
make a macrame chair. For more details
call MacKay Centre at 524-6660.
A Public Meeting is being held at MacKay
Centre on Monday, November 23rd at 7:30
p.m. This is sponsored by MacKay Centre
and Town and Country Homemakers, and is
open to all seniors in the area. We hope to
find out what services are currently
available in Goderich and find out what ser-
vices we need to develop or expand. Input
and suggestions are needed from seniors in
the community so please plan to attend.
A Christmas Social is being held on Fri-
day, November 27th. We will be trimming .
the tree, singing carols and refreshments
will be available.
