AMERICAN LEGION
POST 18 and AUXILIARY
a?
The Town of Goderich
is fi rtunate to have
a Legion such as
Branch 109 -to service the
needs of our local veterans
and their families.
Branch 109 has
proud
As we reflect on the past sixty years of the existence of Goderich Legion Branch
109, let us pause to think of those 15 World War I veterans and Charter Members of
our branch, who, on November 3, 1927, organized and initiated a branch of'the
Royal Canadian Legion.
The efforts and courage and devotion to duty or"this small band of veterans and
the time and efforts of those World War II veterans who succeeded them has
resulted in a Branch 109 of the Royal Canadian Legion that today has a tremendous
potential in terms of personnel (1035 members in total), finances and physical
facilities. A branch of which we can be exceedingly proud.
Let us members of both the branch and the Ladies Auxiliary, as we commence
the celebration of the 60th Anniversary (Diamond Jubilee) of Legion Branch 109,
be fully aware of the events planned to mark this occasion and fully support these
activities taking place from November 11, 1987 to November 11, 1988.
