rgan•izations sponsoring musicial comedy
Dear Editor:
We would like your readers to be aware
of an event that our two organizations, the
Huron County Medical Society and Women
Today are co -sponsoring. Bossin's Home
Remedy for Nuclear War will appear one
night only at the Blyth Memorial Hall on
Thursday, Oct. 15 at 8 p.m. This one man
musical comedy show is theatre with a
definite point of view: anti-nuclear, pro -
peace, This will be a lively and enlighten-
ing evening far anyone interested in learn-
ing more about the issues of peace and
nuclear disarmament - while having fun
and being entertained.
Readers may be curious as to why two
quite different organizations would join
forces to bring this event to Huron County.

Both the Medical Society and Women To-
day are primarily involved in promoting
health and we strongly believe that peace
is a health issue. We are supported by the
World Health Organization which names
peace as a fundamental condition and pre-
requisite for health.
It is not only the potential total loss of life
on the planet that nuclear build up
threatens. Our mental health is also af-
fected as we face the despair of an uncer-
tain future. Women Today and the Medical
Society are also both commited to social
responsibility. When tax dollars are
diverted into nuclear armaments, funds
are diverted from the quality medical ser-
vices and innovative health promotion ac-
tivities that is our work here in Huron
County.
We also believe that working together
peacefully and co-operatively on a local
level is one more way of working toward
global peace. We invite your readers to
participate with us in this endeavour by at-
tending Bossin's Home Remedy for
Nuclear War.
Respectfully,
Beth Fulton, President, Women Today
Peter Englert, President, Huron
County Medical Society
Will men be kept only for procreation
Dear Editor,
Is the Women's Liberation movement
biting off, more than they can chew? Will the
men have to grow long hair to disguise their
sex to qualify for employment?
In Iowa they have objected to Men Work-
ing signs, saying that they are sexist. They
say that the signs should be changed to infer
that they should include women or men.
I notice that on television now that Jack
Ritter, in his role as a detective, or in my
opinion, a first-class defective, has a woman
superior. We also have on television a
heroine. for our children, Sheera, to brain-
wash our children. Will we eventually have
an Amazon society. where men are kept
specifically for procreation purposes or the
amusement of the female?
In Russia the females are accepted in
some forms of manual labor, but they
haven't reached the elevation that they have
in the U.S. or Canada.
When one considers abortion, women
have been successful in being judge, jury
and council, and also executioner. Do`they
really have the ability to merit such action?
I don't agree with abortion, unless it is
therapeutic, but if they are bound and bent
on having one, it should be performed with
the professional skill it deserves.
They definitely believe in the hereafter -
the action -type of hereafter. "You'll be
here, little one, after I'm gone."
If this is an example of the way they han-
dle. problems under pressure, any more
freedom that they lobby for should be given
with the utmost discretion. They have been
responsible for the deaths of 30,000 unborn
children in Ontario alone, in one year.
If there is not some definite cure
discoverd for AIDS, the governments will
wish they had intervened in the freedom
that women have, to maintain the popula-
tion status quo. The freedom women have
had in this particufar regard, has resulted -in
complete chaos.
Sincerely,
N.J. Minaker
Churches little more than social clubs, reader
Dear editor,
A. W. Tozer of the Assemblies of God once
said "We could not conquer the great god
entertainment, so we joined it." He was
right you know!
Today most of our churches are little
more than Social Clubs with the "spirit of
the world" atmosphere. Entertaining the
congregation with the things of the world
rather _than preaching, God's Word. in the
• Power.,.and Anointing of the Holy Ghost is
the norm. • •
Movies, sport activities, baby showers,
youth outings, etc., have taken priority over
prayer, praise and worship of God. As a'
world of lost souls speedily plummets
towards a tormenting Hell, some so-called
.born again Christians engage themselves in
the foolish things of this world. No longer is
there a fear of God existing in our churches.
Instead we tolerate the devil's music,
disguised as contemporary Christian music,
allow •the flesh to be flaunted, dress like
JezZebel and listen from the pulpit to Chris-
tian psychology or witchcraft as it really is.
No fear! God would strike us dead if we
even tried to bring this damnable trash into
the Holy of Holies, yet this is,allowed in the
church today: In conclusion Jesus once said
`It is written, My house shall be called a
house of prayer; but ye have made it a den
of thieves. ( Matt. 21:131"•

Cultural exchange program provides. opportunities
Dear editor,
Recently I have been made aware of one
of the finest opportunities available for
youth that I know of. It is the opportunity for
a student (16 or 17 years of age) to live in a
foreign country for a year, as part of a
cultural exchange programme sponsored by
Rotary International. '
In the next week or two, a student from
the Goderich/Clinton area will be selected
for an interview at, a district level, spon-
sored by the Goderich Rotary Club, •for
possible departure in July of 1988. While
time is short for filing a preliminary .ap-
plication, enquiries may be made for fur-
ther information by contacting me, per-
sonally, at either 'my home or office,
