Ah, memories of the 50s. They live
today. They were happy times:

It was the time of clean
cut, good looking Pat Boone, Frankie
Avalon, and Ricky Nelson. Of the
ultimate beauty of Marilyn Monroe
and Brigitte Bardot. Of rock 'n' roll
hot and greasy with Elvis Presley,
Buddy Holly and Fats Domino. For
fun, there were hula hoops and a
strange campus fad called phone
booth stuffing. And "watching the
submarine races"—petting in the
backseat of the car—was the nastiest
thing you could admit doing.
There was also a wonderful
undercurrent of change which would
seriously¢influence the future. The
space race began. The civil rights
movement began. Important things.
Lasting things.
