On-farm crop testing available .t.o farmers
On-farm forage crop testing will be
available to farmers throughout Ontario,
this summer.
The Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and
Food has announced a Summer Experience
'87 Program called Forage Crop Testing
whereby eight summer students have been
hired to arrange and make on-farm appoint-
ments to take forage crop samples of hay,
haylage and grain. These samples will be
submitted to Agri -Food Laboratories in
Guelph to be analyzed. Farmers are asked
to take handfuls of haylage from .various
loads to get a random sample, and freeze
the sample until the Forage Crop Tester
arrives.
Farmers enrolled in the Red Meat Pro-
gram or Pork Industry Improvement Pro-
