TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Municipal Corpora-
tion of the Town of Goderich proposes to enact a by-law
to stop up and close that part of Mooney Street, being a
street in the Town of Goderich, set out and described as
follows:
that 0;401t;of'Mooney'St1eet1ocated south of Mitchell
Street in the Industrial Park, within Part No.'s 19 and
35, Registered Plan 22R-1172 deposited in the
Registry Division of Huron and shower on the map
below.
The proposed by-law will repeal By-law No. 46 of 1987 and
will come before the said Council for the Corporation at its
regular meeting at the Town Hall in the Town of Goderich
on the 17th day of August, 1987 at the hour of 7:30,o'clock
p.m. and at that time, the Council will hear in person or by
his counsel, solicitor or agent, any person who claims that
his/her Land will be prejudicially affected and who applies
to be heard.

Entertaining puppeteer
Tim Gosley entertained a large crowd of children and parents with his Ugly Duckling Pup-
pet Show at the Courthouse Park on Friday. It was based on Hans Christian Anderson's
classic. The puppet show was held in conjunction with the Festival of Arts and Craft.

Possibility of
hiring summer
officer discussed
Police Chief Patrick King is looking into
the credentials needed to hire a summer
police officer for the town.
Commissioners discussed the possibility
at the June police commission meeting
when Mayor l ileep Palmer noted an
Eastern Ontario town had hired a summer
police officer. Chief King was asked to
look into the matter at that time.
Although Chief King had requested the
information from the Chief of Police in
Alexandria, he had nothing to report at the
July police commission meeting.
"As I understand the police act, he has to
be a sworn policeman. However, I have
requested information from the Chief of
Alexandria," Cheif King said.
Mayor Palmer asked Chief King to con-
tact the Alexandria Police Department
again and provide the commissioners with
any ttiforrriation as "soon as possible.
"It is now that we need someone as a
band-aid measure to get over the summer
months. As soon as you get the informa-
tion, send it to the commission members,"
Mayor Palmer said..
"There's a resource , there that we
haven't tapped. First, we have to find out
is we can legally do it. If no, end of discus-
sion. If yes, then we proceed," she
concluded.
