Such was the case last Monday • as 40 or more guys gathered for the GMSL monthly meeting to discuss the polities of -baseball. Sevoral hot -issues were addressed not the least of which was the decision that our League will take NO disciplinary action against a team that -screws" up. That was a knock -out blow to the League and we,clealt it to ourselves! The implications of this move are already being felt as four games sheets were hot submitted and three forfeiture situations have been unresolved. As a result, standings are impossible to con- struct this week ...-and so is a play-off schedule. This vote by team reps hashand- cuffed the executive. How can you have rules without penalties and oven harsher -penalties _for continued failure to abideby the rules. The GMSL Executive has a responsibility to monitor and give some direction to League functions. However, it is the team reps who hold the voting power, carrying 25 of the 30 votes. This "NO DISCIPLINE" course of action is the result of a team rep vote. Now we have to live with it! Good turnout, despite weather Men's Night on Monday, July 7th had 44 men enter, in spite of the hot humid weather. Doug Bundy snagged 1st low net, and Larry McDougall came closest to the pill on No. 5. Other winners were Ebb Ross, Larry McDougall, John Alexander and Jack Hinton. Ladies' Nig on Tuesday, July 7th was Guest Night, arinve had a good turn -out of 52 playing in two -ball foursomes. The scores were nothing to write home about except when you get a stacked deck like Ardith Brissette and Shelagh Sully playing together. However, we gave them the 1st low gross prize. Other prizes were all net and some of the winners were: First, Kay King and Phyl Lawrence; Second, Eleanor Erskine and Theresa Donatis; Third, Irla BALL at the Maitland ‘0,1,16.2.:;;%vernmemommillmommim Stewart and Edna Overholt; Fourth, Jean Hanly and Sue Leddy; Fifth, Rosemarie Evans and Sue Culbert; and Sixth, Bev Jeffrey and Brenda Teichert. Everybody, regardless of score, receiv- ed a prize, and we hope everyone enjoyed themselves. • The weatherman has promised us that this horrible weather that we have been experiencing this past week will moderate a little by Tuesday. Here's hoping he's right, ! 1,1gir= Promote your business & products and watch your profits grow. e PHOTOGRAPHY FOR EVERY NEED aEQUIPMENT & SUPPLIES PHONE 524-7532 —it's a Must Against Rust— We Change Your Oil Fast To Make Your Car Last 1 CLEAN PRICE Oil, Lube, Filter 1 950 50 Picton St. E., Goderich 524-9094 This Space can be yours just pick up the phone and call.
