SUMMER READING PROGRAM- The Summer Reading Program is- underway at the Goderich Branch Library. This year's theme is GOBBLE IT UP. Children ages 5-12 are encouraged .to join by July 9. THURSDAY, JULY 16 to SATURDAY, JULY 18 - The 15th annual Flower Festival will be held at the Huron County Court House on the second floor. This is the an- nual showing of flowers arranged to repre- sent a theme. This year's theme is "Yours, to Discover". Each arrangement will honor an annual celebration somewhere in On- tario, for example Clinton's Klompenfeest or Zurich's Bean Festival. Silver collection will be used to help "Keep it Beautiful." Door prizes. SUNDAY, JULY 5 - There will be a Homecoming Anniversary Service at Don- nybrook United Church on July 5 at 11 a.m. Guest speaker will be a former minister, the Rev. Richard Hawley of Exeter. Lunch served following the service. We had a lot of fun with French and vocal music, especially Grades 3 and 4. Grade 1 music was a treat and Grades 5, 6.and 7 French kept me very busy. Have a super summer everyone. I look for- ward to seeing you all in September. Grade 8's we'll miss you. Good Iuck in high school. Awards Assembly - On June 22nd Robert- son students attended their final assembly. Everyone received a certificate with a special Robertson emblem at the top. Each certificate bore seals pertaining to the students' achievement. The Robertson award, which is given to the best all-around studera. in Grade 6 was presented to Jason Hayter. The Lioness Student of the year award, which is given for perserverence to a Grade 6 student, was presented to Nina Romoano. Grades 5 and 6 enjoyed themselves during a day to Bingeman Park in Kitchener.. Mr. Currie braved it and went down the water slides. Mr. Scratch unfortunately, forgot to bring his bathing suit,' therefore had to watch and couldn't participate on the water slides or the wave pool. Congratulations to our honour students from Grades 7 and 8. Bowl-a-Thon raised ver $1500 for school students Grade 6 students of Victoria Public School and Grades 3 to 8 of Robertson Memorial' Public School turned out to bowl to support their fellow students recently.' This fund-raising Bowl -a -Thou • in which 135 students participated, was held to raise money for Goderich Music Boosters. Over $1,500 was raised and this goes towards helping to provide Music and instruments for any future Grade 7's and 8's who choose to participate ' in the Music program 4 Robertson Memorial School. The Bowl-a-Thon was held at Little Bowl where Mrs. Little counted 97 bicycles out- side during the bowling. The Bowl-a-Thon was very successful. Thanks are expressed to important friends, neighbours and relatives for their generous support with their pledges.
