Friday night in London, the Sabres got on the scoreboard first and led 2-0 after the first period of play. Goderich's Trevor Macaulay brought the locals' within one three minutes into the second period as he converted a three-way passing play from Craig Corrivieu and David Lumley. That would be as close as they would get. London scored a late second period goal to restore their two -goal advantage and added four goals in the third frame to win. The following day in Goderich, the locals started off strong and jumped out to a 1-0 first period lead on a goal by Bryan Currie seven minutes into the game. Steve Clarence assisted. Goderich increased their advantage with two more goals just 25 seconds apart in the middle frame but St. Marys rebounded. Brad Jones, on a pass from Brandon Cor- rivieu, gave Goderich a 2-0 lead and just seconds later, Jeff unassisted marker to give the home recorded eam a . 3-0 lead. Before the middle session ended, however, St. Marys had scored two goals of their own to cut the Goderich lead to 3-2. Just 34 seconds into the final period, Goderich's David Lumley scored with assists e and arence to restore going tto ris hometeam'two goal advantage. St. Marys struck back, though, and scored a pair of goals just 22 seconds apart two minute© into the last period to die the game.
