Lakeland slipped past the Bedford Flyers 5-4 in a game last Tuesday night as Jeff Denomy scored twice. Paul Schaefer, Brad Armstrong and Dan Boyce rounded out the scoring for the winners. Earlier last week, Lakeland routed Mur- phy's Green Machine by a lopsided 10-4 count, as Brad Armstong recorded the hat trick. Runners-up for the President's Cup were Brian Reeve, Louise Hetherington (third) and Dawna Sproule (fourth). Runners-up in the Quarterly Club Cham- pionships were Eleanor Erskine and Mary Donnelly (second), Barb Howe and Marion Lane (third) and Lee Ryan (fourth) . Bonnie Durnin ( 210), Grace Mugford (219, 608), Vicki Dineen (276) helped in the point allotment. The New -Gals fought back to take two points, led by Pauline Jacques (174), Mavis Fisher (181), Sharon Marshall (200), Doreen Leeson (225) and Eleanor Crawford (235). , The Blazers and the Marionettes split the points with the Blazers coming away with four. Good games were bowled from Earleen Spain (182), Jean Pinder (206), Lor- raine Jones (227). • The Marionettessfought back to take three points with strong efforts. from Alice Mero (169), Joan Crawford (201), Betty Fisher (251), Marilyn Bannister (608) triple. The Oldtimers proved they weren't too old by taking seven points from the Wallbangers. Joyce Atchison recorded a 181 and a 193, while Nancy White had a 215 and a 607 triple. • The Wallbangers had high games from Trish Deighton (182), Dianne Scott (231), Ann Smith (217) (598) triple. Barb's Bunnies were bowling against 100 per cent of their average and took five points.
