These two young girls were kept busy at the Christmas craft table Saturday morning at the Goderich Kinette's annual Christmas bazaar. The bazaar, held at the Kinsmen Centre, featured a bake table, tea tables, crafts and knitted items. Proceeds from the bazaar go to various community services. (photo by Lou -Ann Hope) Enterprising Seniors to hold pot luck Christmas dinner HOLMESVILLE - John Gredanius played organ prelude at Holmesville United Church on Sunday morning with Rev. James Bechtel officiating. A children's hymn was sung before the children went to their classes. Holmesville choir practice will be on November 27 at 7:15 p.m. ' Next Sunday (November 30) members of the catechism class are to join the church. On Chr=istmas eve, at 9 p.m. the Clinton Rovers will show slides. Next Sunday, at 6:30 p.m., Praise and Worship Service will be held at Vanastra Christian Church. Christmas trees are for sale by the church's young people. Trees will be available by December 1 at 193 Townsend Street. The cost is $12 each. Sympathy cards were sent to Will and Alice Porter. Blanche and Edward Deeves are in charge of entertainment for January 8. On December 4, the seniors will hold their Christmas dinner in the hall at 12:30 p.m. .11 paid up members. Others are asked "to pay,$9 a plate. Each person attending is to bring a gift with a $2 value for Bingo prizes. Lunch to be served by Noreen Febbert and Marlyn Forbes. Church to hold carol service Deeves chaired the PORT ALBERT NEWS The Christ Church Christmas Carol Ser- vice will be held December 14 at 2 p.m. with St. George's Anglican Church Choir atten- ding. A pot luck supper will be served following the service. The community wishes 'to extend sym- pathy to Doris Daer and her family on the recent death of her father, Mel Stewart. Mel, brother of Art Stewart, was well-known in the community and at one time farmed on the fourth concession. Tom and Anne Livingstone are settled into their Florida home and enjoying beautiful weather. Shawn Doherty and Bob Corkum visited with their families last weekend. Both boys." are attending the University of Toronto. Michael and Janet Bellinger, along with their two children, were recent visitors of Roy and Bessis Bellinger. Seniors to hold Christmas dinner We are sorry to report that Gertrude Park was taken to Wingham hospital by am- bulance on Thursday, November 28 due to a stroke. Winners at the Seniors Centre euchre games on Wednesday evening were Ilia Pollock ( high lady ), Belle Mole ( low lady ), Thys Groen ( high man) , Tim McNee (low man ). The next general meeting will be held Monday, December 10, with final plans for the Christmas dinner December 17 to be discussed. Mrs. Payne had resid- ed in Dungannon for a year before moving to Maitland Manor in Goderich. On Nov. 26, the Nordheid, an ocean freighter registered in Singapore, arrived. This is the first trip to Goderich for the Nordheid, which is picking up 23,000 tons of corn gluton pellets for use as cat- tlefeed in Ireland. The boat cleared for- Montreal, orMontreal, then to Ireland on Nov. 27. The Frankcliffeehall cleared with salt for Prescott on Nov. 10 The Agawa Canyon arrived from HARBOR REPORT Cleveland, light for salt on Nov. 11 and Cleared for Ferrysburg the next day. The Canadian Progress arrived from Hamiliton, light for salt on Nov. 22 and cleared for Valleyfield, Quebec on Nov. 24. The Algobay arrived from Sarnia, light for salt on Nov. 27 and cleared for Millwaukie and Chicago on Nov. 29.
