Go4Ettes will meet Sifto, Ni..Jtit
Owls to take on Nile in ladies' slowpitch
The second round of playoffs has now
been completed, with 2 teams in each divi-
sion advancing to the championship series.
• The A Division saw 3 close games played
last week with one of those going into extra
innings. On September 16, Go4-Ettes met
for their second game with Sifto emerging
victorious by a 12-8 score. Brenda Dineen
went 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles for
Sifte. Debbie Clarence had a triple and
Kim Austin hit 2 doubles for Go-4-Ettes.
Oldtimers and Go4-Ettes played their
second game on September 17 with the
Go-4-Ettes squeaking by the Oldtimers
again 6-5. The Oldtimers scored 5 runs in
the fourth inning to take a 5-2 lead.
However, Go-4-Ettes battled back to tie
the score in the sixth. Connie MacCauley
scored the winning run in the seventh for
Go-4-Ette,s. Patti Pitre hit a triple for the
Oldtimers.
On September 18, Oldtimers and Sifto
met in a hard-fought game that went into
extra innings and used 2 diamonds. With
Sifto ahead 9.6 in the top of the seventh, the
Oldtimers scored 3 runs with 2 out to tie the

ting a lead-off triple to make the score 10-9.
Wendy Good hit a grand slam homerun for
the Oldtimers. Special mention goes to,
Bonnie Pletch and "the girls" in right field
for their juggling catch.
Go-4-Ettes and Sifto will now meet in a
best three out of five final series.
In the B Division, all three teams were
tied after the second rounds. On
September 16, Nile defeated Meneset 8-2 in
a game played at Meneset. Debbie
Gregory hit a 2 -run double for Nile. Elaine
Fielder and Marg St. Louis scored Nile's
runs.
The next night the two teams met again.
This time Meneset were the victors by an
11-2 margin. Sherry Warren went 4 for 4
Meneset. Bonnie Dungale had a triple for
Nile.
Meneset played 3 nights in a row as they
met Night Owls on September 18. After 6
innings the game was called because of
darkness with Night Owls ahead 16.-5. The
seventh inning was played on September
21 with Night Owls winning by the same
score. Sandy Mahon went 4 for 4 for Nile.
Lori Williams hit a 3 -run homer for Night
Owls.
In a low -scoring game on September 19,
Nile held on to defeat Night Owls 4-2. Deb-
bie Gregory scored 2 of Nile's runs. Helen
Brown and Dori Kolkman scored the runs
for Night Owls.
Because of the 3 -way tie, Nile got a bye
into the final with Night Owls and Meneset
having a play-off on September 21. Night
Owls came out swinging as they defeated
Meneset 15-0 to advance to the champion-
ship round.
The final series will be the best three out
of five in both divisions..

Pete Teichert shot a fine 35 on Men's
Night to capture low gross with Leroy
Bedour claiming low net with his 37. Great
golfing fellows.
First Flight low gross was won by Ticker
Mero and Stan Connelly winning low net.
Marty Buchannan won second flight with
Jim Mero taking low net. Third flight was
won by Mike Lajeunesse with Jack
Freeman taking low net position.

Wallbangers
to victory in
ladies' bowling
Dianne Scott led the Wallbangers to ,a
fide point win over the Marionettes:
Dionne started off with a 224,571 triple and
help from Sandy Fielder 166, Marj Poulter
181, _Ann Smith 184. The Marionettes took
two points led by Marion Beacom 184, Bet-
ty Fisher 214 and Marilyn Bannister 218,
536 triple.
The Blazers' were in top form as they
took all seven points from the Oldtimers.
Good games rolled by Jean Pinder, 175,
Na cy Brooks 183, Lorraine Jones 175,
Jo3ce Hamilton 227, 234, 840 triple which
was 201 pins over her average. The
Oldtimers did not have a good night as
they lost all seven points. High roller for
the team was Bev Million with 205, 522
triple. -
Barb's Babes were on a roll as they took
seven points from the Newkids. Good
games from Bev Whetstone 208, Joyce Pet-
tus 163, 166, Barb Ahnasi 200, Mary Lynn
Telford 212, Shirley Kennedy 559 triple.
The Newkids came away with no points
but no doubt will be contenders in the near
future. High games rolled by Pauline

Leeson 181, Nancy Schilbe 194, Eleanor
Crawford 189, 522 triple.
Auleen's Angels were bowling against
100% of their average and came away with
five points. Good games rolled by Grace

Brenda Dineen 605 triple.
The ladies were in a festive mood as we

plusher record of bowling over 30 years at

corsage plus a birthday cake, baked by
Earleen Spain. The cake was enjoyed by
everyone.
