About 60 attend. Blooming Contest
The award's night for the Mayor's Bloom-
ing Contest took place on Saturday night,
September 20th at the Livery. About 60 peo-
ple were in attendance to enjoy light
refreshments and the entertainment of
Jazzvox.
Mayor Palmer awarded the prizes as
follows: residential: 1st - Betty Allan, 251
Eldon Street a $25 Gift certificate from Art's
Landscaping; 2nd - Jim & Ruth Skeoch, 125
Nelson Street a $15 Gift certificate from
Dixie's Flowers; 3rd - Mrs. Edna Shaw, 190

Rita Bernadette DeJong, of Chatham,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George DeJong, of

ing were married Sept. 6, 1986 at St. Peter's
Roman Catholic Church with Father Hardy
officiating. Matron of honor was Ann
Schoemaker, sister of the bride, of RR2
Goderich and bridesmaids were Marion
Melick, friend of the bride, of Kitchener,
Anita Whytock, friend of the bride, of RR5
Goderich, Joanne McFadden, friend of the
bride, of Chatham and Karen DeJong,
sister-in-law of the bride, of London.
Flowergirl was Yvonne DeJong, niece of the
bride, of London, England and ringbearer
was Ian DeJong, nephew of the bride, of
London, England. Groomsman was Mike
Goetz, friend of the groom, of Toronto and
ushers were Scott Rowland, friend of the
groom, of Toronto, Greg Garland, friend of
the groom, of Toronto, David Cliff, brother
of the groom, of Petrol'ia and Tom DeJong,
brother of the bride, of London. The recep-
tion was held at the Saltford Valley Hall.
After a wedding trip of two weeks in
Montego Bay, Jamaica, the couple will
