The Goderich Signal-Star, 1986-09-17, Page 29two of which caused Goderich touchdowns
to be called back.
The Viking defence was strong, turning
back several Cowboy offensive drives that '
penetrated inside the Viking 20 yard line.
Most of the mistakes were described as
mental errors by -coach Ray Donnelly. He
felt they were the kind of mistakes to be
expected with so many first-year' seniors
in the lineup, but both Donnelly and his
assistant Chris Connor were encouraged
by the many good things they saw in their
team's play.
The Vikings scored their only touchdown
in the second quarter when Wayne Nivins
scored on a five -yard run. Shawn Larder
kicked the convert.•
•
The score remained 7-0 for Goderich un-
til the fourth quarter when Medway scored
on a 25 yard pass and run play. That
- touchdown was also converted.
