While it has been customary practice for participants to gather pledges on a per km. basis, organizers say participants may simply make a donation at the registration desk. The'operative word is participation and everyone is encouraged to bring a friend or bring the whole family to help raise funds for cancer research. ►iedge' sheets' will also be ' made available at the registration desk for peo- ple who missed obtaining one. All dona- tions and pledges can be turned in to any chartered bank after the event. Last year more than 75 people of all ages participated in the one -day event, raising over $1,600 for cancer research. In the past ,two years, Goderich residents have raised almost $3,600 in the event: About $40 million has been raised in Canada since the Terry Fox Run began in September 1981. Tens of thousands of Canadians have become in the annual event. So come on out and join the Terry ,Fox Run for Cancer this Sunday. Your effort and contribution could 'make all the dif- ference to a cancer victim.
