Bank comes first in Expo
After a six week Expo 86 Express cam-
paign, the Goderich Royal Bank placed
first out of 35 branches in the Kitchener
region.
"I'm very personally thrilled this
branch came first," says John Lawrence,
manager.
"We decided at the outset we'd go all out
and we outdid ourselves. The main reason
we were so successful is because two of the
staff worked extremely hard to get as
many points as they could opening new ac-
counts," he said.
Sylke Hickey won a trip for two to Expo
86 in Vancouver with four days and five
nights, $500 spending money and a VIP
tour for coming second in the district. Out
of 35,000 staff members who participated
in the campaign across Canada, she was in
the top 20.
Mary Lou Henry came fifth in the
district winning a VCR.
Judy Watt was the campaign
coordinator.
"Sylke came in to the bank on evenings,
weekends, and holidays to work on the
campaign," says Watt.

Some' concern was raised about parent
representation on the new committee.
Mr. McQuail pointed out that many com-
mittee members will in fact be parents of
school aged children. Regarding the specific
appointment of a parent or parents, he ques-
tioned how this could be done and proposed
the difficulties in naming one parent from
the entire county to sit on the committee, or
in the other extreme having the committee
become too large with several parents from
different factions being involved.
