Winners receive cash prizes at derby
The Port Albert 150th Committee' spon
sored. a fishing derby this past weekend at
the port Albert fishway office. The prizes
were awarded according to the longest fish
and the first three winners were Mark
Brown of Goderich who won $100, a jacket
for his 29 3/4 inch fish; Dominic Persichetti
of London - $50 and a jacket for a 291/4 inch
fish and Dean Ingham of Ingersol - $25 and a
rod case for a 291/8 inch fish.
In ail, fourteen prizes were given, two of
which went to Don Bauer and Roy Gut-
manis, local residents. Ron Dennis Jr. won a
fishing pole in the under age 16 category.
Steve Williams was chief organizer of the
event.
Major and much needed road construction
is now taking place in Port Albert. The
winter winds will find it is more difficult to
drift snow on the roads and sumer driving
will be much more pleasant once the work is
completed.
