Former Ashfield reeve dies
ANDREW RITCHIE
A Former reeve of Ashfield Township.
Andrew Ritchie ot Lucknow, died in Univer-
sity Hospital-, loSndon on April 1, 1986 at the
age of 73. A member of Ashfield Township
Council from 1948 - 1961, he served as reeve
for two years from 1960 - 61.
A farmer in Ashfield, Township for 5.0
years, lie had retired to Lucknow where he
was a men* r of Lucknow United Church.
He was bait In Aihfield on May 13, 1912, a
son of the late Robert Andrew and Alice
Gardner. He married Donalda MacDonald
of West Wawanosh on April, 26, 1941 in
Lucknow.
OBITUARIES
He is survived by his wife, two daughters,
Dianne and her husband, TPB1 Dickson of
Port Albert and Hilda and her husband,
Tofik Andrew of Lucknow and one son, Cal of
Kitchens44: • -
A brother, J.G. Ritchie of Brussels and a
sister, Titre Wilson of Lucltnow also survive
as well as ix grandchildren.

Ronald Joseph McDougall, formerly of
London, Ontario, died suddenly at his
residence in Winterburn, Alberta, in his 49th
year on Sunday, March 16, 1986,
Survived by dear friend Marylou,.
daughter Valerie of Dorchester, Ontario,
sons Randy and Roger and wife, Laura, of
Edmonton, one granddaughter Brenda Lee.
Dear son of Nellie McDougall of Goderich,
dear brother of Eleanor, Mrs. Pat Whitely
and Islay Johnston both of Goderich,
Marion, Mrs. Don Kernighan of Komoka,
Donna, Mrs. Carl Bender of Watford, Glen-
da, Mrs. John Gerrits of Thamesford, Joan,
Mrs. Bill Crawford and Norma, Mrs. Gary
Preszcator, both of Clinton, Gordon and
Douglas of Blyth, Bob and Jim of Goderich.
Predeceased by son Richard, Father
James and brpther Murray. Funeral ser-
vices were held at United Church at 1:00
p.m. Thursday, March 20, 1986 at Spruce
Grove, Alberta,
HAROLD F. THOMPSON
Harold F. Thompson of Tillsonburg died
at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital
on Monday, April 7, 1986 in his 62nd year.
Born in Mitchell on May 3, 1924, he was the
son of Joseph Thompson and the late Elva
Robinson.
He is survived by his wife, the former
Irene Priddle, a son, Philip (Butch) Thomp-
son of Mt. Bridges, four daughters, Diane
Lingaitis of Tillsonburg, Alice Vallee of
Straffordville, Pat Catton of Regina, Saskat-
chewan and Peggy Russell of Scarborough
and nine grandchildren. He is also survived
by his father, Joseph Thompson, a sister,
Alice Phillion of Wingham and two brothers,
Ross and Clare Thompson of Tillsonburg._

DAN MERO
Dan Mero of Nile died at Alexandra
Marine and General Hospital in Goderich on
Saturday, March 22, 1986 at the age of 57.
A psychiatric attendant, he was born in
Sandwich, Essex County on December 21,
1928. He was a son of Donald Mero and the
former Victoria DeGuire of Windsor.
He is survived by his parents, his wife, the
former Dorothy Curran, three daughters,
Linda Running of Kingston, Debra Eggleton
of Tilbury and Judy Couture of Chatham
and,tvye sons, Derek at home and,Dennie of
thatlieni, a step -on Kevin Willis of
Goderich and three grandchildren, Jen-
nifer, Gary and Tommy.
Two brothers, Armand of Windsor, and
John of Kingsville and a sister, Noella;Mri.
Ed Miner of Goderich and his mother -hi -
law, Eileen Curran also survive.
He was predeceased by a sister, Therese
Mero and his father-in-law, John Curran.
The funeral and committal services were -
held at the McCallum Funeral Home on •
Tuesday, March 26,1.986 at 2 p.m. conducted
by Rev. John D.M. Wood of Victoria Street
United Church, Goderich.
Burial in Colborne Cemetery.
CLAYTON W. (JUM) NIVINS
Clayton W. (Jum) Nivins of Goderich
died at, Alexandra Marine and General
Hospital on Sunday, March 30, 1986. A
printer, he was an employee with Goderich
Signal -Star for 35 years prior to purchasing
a full partnership in the Goderich Print Shop
from which he retired in 1975.
He was a member of the Goderich Trot-
ting Association and Knox Presbyterian '
Church. ,
He was born in Goderich, a son of the late
John A. Nivins and Ella M. Burnside.• He '

He is also survived by two sons, Peter and
Paul, both at home, three sisters, Andrei',
Mrs. H.O. Boufford, of Sand Point Idaho; •
Isa Muir Stanley, of Seaforth and Shirley,

He was predeceased by a sister, Adeline
Sanderson and a brother, Ellwood.. • ;

Funeral Home in Goderich at 2 pan. On
Tuesday, April 1, 1986, conducted by Rev
G.L. Royal Knox Presbyterian Church.

Kenneth McLean and Barbara MacKenzie.
