Stron men and women of Colborne
will ornpete at Sesquicentennial
Involvement is the name of the game for
Colborne Township's Sesquicentennial. A
fun sports program is planned for after the
parade on Saturday, July 19.
The committee of John Hazlitt, Don
Sowerby, Laurie Little, Bill Jewell and
Chris Moore has planned an exciting after-
noon. For the strong men and women, a bale
throwing contest or an arm wrestling com-
petition will separate "the men from the
boys" or in our age of equal opportunity
"the women from the girls". Skills will be
tested at bag tying, barrel racing, hog call-
ing and arm wrestling.
Herman Fisher and Court Kerr are
organizing the Horse Shoe Pitch. Wayne
Millian is in charge of an invitational tug-of-
war. The surrounding municipalities will
meet the 1986 strong men of Colborne.
Stanley Township also celebrating its
150th, Birthday, has challenged Colborne
Township to a baseball game. The game will
be held in August at the Stanley Complex.
Bill Jewell is in charge of organizing a Col-
borne Township winning team.
