Goderich harbor was an active spot on Sunday and many carloads of people lined the docks to watch the activity. Of prime in- terest was the loading of the first boat with salt from the new rock salt mine. The Iro- quois, a Canada Steamships Line boat, came up from Detroit and took away a cargo of 4,200 tons of rock salt to Montreal. Remington's IGA Foodliner, 80 South Street°, was officially opened today. Jim Remington is manager of the new super- market which is 53 feet by 100 feet. 5 YEARS AGO Construction is progressing on the outdoor salt 'storage area at the Domtar Sifto Mine at Goderich harbor. The Huron County Board of Education and its elementary -school teachers may be close to contract settlement despite negotia- tions which, at best, have been slow. Volunteer co-ordinators play many roles, and these roles will form the basis of discus- sion in this seminar. At one time or another, a volunteer co-ordinator has to be: a seller, dealing with recruiting strategies; an educator, training and teaching volpnteers; a manager, orgy ruing work functions; a counsellor, establishing a support network; and a troubleshooter, dealing with crises and potential problems,.
