Holiday in Puerto Plate
• it NEW CANADIAN FAVORITE
I have just returned from a very pleasant one-week
vacation in Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic.
Jamaica is to thin west and San Juan, Puerto Rico is to
the east. of this friendly country. Eighty degree
temperatures greeted us upon arrival, the average year
round temperature.
We stayed at the new resort of Playa Dorada which
is spread uutialon the Atlantic Oc can 10 minutes from
Puerto Plata and tie airport. Four very _fine hotel com-
plexes are now open here with an additional five hotels
in various stages of development.
Canadians are booking this destination in large
numbers 'this winter and for good reason. The
Dominican people are friendly and helpful, the• food
exeptional and inexpensive and the sandy beaches are
clean, and you can walk for miles entoying the sun and
ocean breezes.
Playa Dorada Resort offers an 18 hole golf course, ten-
nis courts, horseback and bicycle riding and nightly
entertainment. The hotels are within ccalking distance
and offer fine dining. As well, Puerto Plata is a short
1p minute ride by bus (modern and only 25( one way)
and offers shopping and several small restaurants with
dining at reasonable prices. .
Regent Holidays has the largest number u( seats to
Puerto Plata this winter and offers t\c o hotels at the
Playa t)orada and one hotel in Puerto Plata and one
hotel at Sosua Beach (see ad below).
Call us today and ask for our flyer on • Tips tor Puerto
Plata Visitors". As well, don't be disappointed. BOOK
