Audrey Darlow of Goderich is pie lucky
winner of the Colborne Township Christmas
Country Fair quilt. The quilt, made by Mar-
jorie Jackson of Goderich, was displayed at
last year's fair and tickets were sold on it all
year long byonna Crawford,, Worthy
Matron of Blue Water Chapter No. 284,
Order of the Eastern Star. The fair was Mrs.
Crawford's m peynaking project for the .1
Chapter and a l.proceeds went toward Alex-
Ca,,,,,,.,ands,, Macen,,a l General Hospital equip-
ment. ...._. _.: �.
This year's fair will be held at Saltford
Valley Hall on October 17, 20 and 21.

Peter John Nelson, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Wallace Nelson of R.R. 6 Goderich, recently
graduated from the Business Data Process-
ing course at Fanshawe College in London.
He is also a graduate of GDCI.

The wreaths at the Cenotaph this month
are courtesy of the Township of Goderich,
the Knights of Columbus No. 5420, Dearborn
Steel Products, the Sunset Circle Club and
Riec•k Pharmacy. These wreaths were pur-
chased during the 1983 Poppy Campaign of
Goderich Legion Branch 109.
Dungannon WI
holds cultural
activities meet
The Dungannon Women's Institute held
their cultural activities meeting September
5 at 8 p.m. Sixteen members met first at the
home and workshop of Merle and Sheila
Gunby. A tour of two rooms in their
'beautiful old stone house furnished with an-
tique furniture was enjoyed. Then Merle
gave an interesting demonstration in his
Workshop as he turned a block of walnut
wood on a lathe into a lamp and a pine slab
into a plate. He explained finishing, san-
ding, staining and the hand tools used for
patterns. ()n display were -rolling-pins,
plates, lamps, canes, bowls and other hand-
crafted wooden articles.
The ladies then went to the home of con-
venor Tini I r nberg. After opening exer-
cises Mellis ' gtenberg entertained with
a piano i.o, ental entitled Minuet in
Trio.
Business and correspondence included an
invitation tb the Tiger Dunlop branch
meeting, notice of the fall rally, the voting
delegates nominated to attend, were Lois
Lee and Donna Young. Plans were made for
the area convention and president Ila
Crozier was nominated delegate.
The collection of Pennies for Friendship
was taken, based on seven cents for every
clock in each member's home.
Tini Logtenberg, Olive Chisholm. and
Norma Martin served a delicious snack of
raw fruit, cheese, crackers and coffee
following the meeting.
