Hi9
My name is Bryan Lahey and I was two
years old on September 1. I live with my
mom and dad, John and Jennifer, on South
Street.
I'd like to say "Happy Birthday" to my
Uncle Brad who has the same birthday as
me. We both will be getting some chips for
our birthdays. I'd also like,to say "Happy
Birthday" to my grandpa too.
Thanks again this year for this birthday
announcement.
- Love, Brya
Hello,

I would like to thank Ora and Gord for my
very first birthday present and I would like
to wish my friends Laura and Nathan a hap-
py first birthday too!

LOOKING BACK
The Goderich Planing Mill Co. has a con-
tract to build a cottage on the west side of
Colbourne Street for Mrs. (Rev.
McLaughlin and commenced digging out
the foundation last Friday.
One of the Gundry Bros. horses, being left
untied, got frightened and ran away this
week, coming in contact with one of those
unmerciful things, a barbed wire fence. The
contact with the fence means the loss of $30
to the owners.
Even the oldest inhabitants of this area do
not seem to know when the sewers were last
flushed. If left much longer, it will be im-
possible to accomplish anything without
wanton expense. The water mains and
sewers should be flushed frequently during
the summer months.
"Those who failed to see the sunset on
Thursday evening missed a•sight which may
never be equalled here," reported the
Goderich Star this`week. The western sky,
the lake and the river were turned into
molten golden, shaded with burnt orange
and in the midst of this vast panorama, a
mirage appeared. Boats floated on the
bosom of space, trees of a deeper shade and
fields and barns and fairy buildings hung in
a the sky whose richness of coloring sur-
passed anything seen in many years.
Goderich Collegiate Institute Board ob-
tained a court order this week compelling
town council to approve the 1934 budget of
the board.
