On Saturday, the Goderich. Atoms minor
soccer team won a 12 telco tournalnent in
Exeter by beating Klnca dine 4-3 in a shoot-
out in the final. In previous gamus Goderich
beat Exeter's third team 8.O Lucan's se-
cond team 6-0, and Exeter's.Orst team 4-0.
Goderich goal scorers Were; Todd Papple
with 6 goals; Chad Papule, 5 goals; Drew
MacAulay, 4 goals; Bryan Pickell, 3 goals;
Sam Hosack, Andrew McLarty, Donnie
Rivers, and Dennis Lassaline, one goal
each. Dave Boyce played well in goal, and
coach Al Fisher also praised the work of for-
wards Andrew McLarty and Bryan Pickell,
and defenders Di'ew MacAulay and Jamie
Redmond. •
The Atoms travel to Clinton this Saturday
for the Huron County playoffs, and based on
their showing last Saturday, must be con-
sidered to be overwhelming favorites to re-
.tain the cup they won last year.
In a regular league game last Tuesday the
Atoms defeated Clinton 10-0 in a game
played in Goderich. Drew MacAulay scored

three goals, 'Chad Papple and Sam Hoseck
two each, and Todd Pa le, Donnie Rivers,
. and Dennis Lassaline added singles.
The Bantams'defeated Kincardine 1-0 in a
game played in Goderich on July 17. Inside-
klght Scott Westecott was the goal scorer.

In the Squirt House League last Wednes-
day, Bombers defeated Raiders 4-3. Mike
McBride scored three goals and Trevor
MacAulay added a single for Bombers,
while Ian Parker, Dave Lumley, and Dirk
Wolterbeek scored singles for Raiders. In
the second game Vikings nipped Giants 1-0
on a goal from Jeremy Powell. As a result of
these games, the Bombers won the first half
of the schedule with a total of seven points,
Giants and Raiders tied for second place
with six points each, and Vikings finished in
third spot -with five points.
The Peewees defeated Clinton 4-1 last
Wednesday at Clinton. Bill Trebish scored
two goals, and Greg De Winter and Bob
Lumley tallied singles.
