Spinning and weavirig will be demonstrate Gerry Zurbrigg will be demonstrating weaving on a 45 inch floor loom at the Huron County Pioneer Museum Craft Festival August 11 and 12. She has been weaving for about four years. She will be attending the In- termediate Weaving Course at the schoolhouse in Belwood, Ontario during the last week of July. With an interest in the old-fashioned weaving designs, Gerry tries to incorporate these in weaving fabric for modern fashions. Besides weaving on a floor loom, Gerry also makes some interesting plant hangers, using frame loom techniques on bicycle rims. Toni Vos has been a spinner and weaver for several years. She began spinning when her husband bought her a spinning wheel as a gift from Australia. Toni is also an ac- complished weaver, using a floor loom. Since Toni also does yarn dyeing (one new technique even involves using Kool-Aid), she is able to produce a finished product, which is handmade from dyeing to sewing. Toni will be demonstrating her spinning skill at the Craft Festival also., Other crafts demonstrated will include knitting on a knittingnachine, quilting and rug hooking. • C'1 ~I', , 1 a 'pa a Vt ,,, ,i.r 10 1.0Vi‘ 41"01 (T4 -‘414.I 4140Pfaltar THE 10 KILOMETER GODERICH CLASSIC RUN Co -Sponsored By Athletes Foot-Suncoast Mali-Goderich In Conjunction With Thg Festival Of Arts And Crafts OPEN TO ALL RUNNERS & JOGGERS 6 Categories: MEN'S OPEN WOMEN'S OPEN MASTERS (40 yrs. & over) YOUTH (17 yrs. & under) GODERICH RESIDENT (male) GODERICH RESIDENT(female) Saturday, July 21 . loam STARTING PLACE: Ernie's Roadhouse, 168 West Street FINISHING PLACE: Goderich Municipal Office, 57 West Street PRIZES: "5620.00 in Merchandise to first, second & third place finishers in each category, provided by Athlete's Foot, Goderich.
