Some, children get bored with the sane activities after about a month, so parents start looking for new interests to keep them occupied. The Goderich Recreation Department is once again sponsoring the Bert and Ernie Club for children three to five -years -old. The Club is held at the Community Centre on Cambridge Street from Monday to Friday. The Bert and Ernie Club offers a varietyays that of activities that not only keep the children occupied, but can teach them new crafts and games. A special treat is a trip to a farm or recreation area some afternoons. , Supervisor Barbara Conlon s children' can attend for half days, full days or by the week. "We are really fexible with the amount of time the children attend," she explained. The Community Centre has different stations for the children to work at. They can do sponge painting or string painting at one station, work with play dough, pretend to work in a general store, play dress up, or do a craft. ' Each week Conlon, and staff members Kim Searls and Karin Buchanan, have a theme for a special craft. Last week was friendship week at the Bert and Ernie Club so the children made friendship gifts. Three afternoons a week the children go on trips. The staff takes them to a farm, bowling or on a nature hike. To help your youngsters enjoy the summer, sign them up at the Recreation Office. It is a good opportunity for the children to meet new friends and try new experiences.
