Don Chartarnd and David Medland made the journey to the Hully Gully Motocross School from New Liskeard, Ont. New trophy case to be constructed in arena A trophy case for interested sports organizations will be constructed along the north wall of the Goderich Arena, provided enough groups are interested. At the June Goderich Recreation Board meeting, Board member Ron Bushell explained that many sports groups have been asking for an area to display their trophies. The location which would allow for the most space is between the ladies' washroom and the figure skaters souvenir booth, along the north wall. This space will allow for an 11 foot long case that is approximately seven feet high and one foot wide. The space within the trophy case will be divided into four sections and sold to groups. An estimated cost of $2,000 for the trophy case includes all the necessary material. The Recreation Board will pay half of the cost and sell sections to minor groups for $250 and any other interested groups will pay $500. Once a group has bought the space, they will take full responsibility for it. The motion was made at the meeting to proceed with construction of the trophy case pravided the interested groups giv>? a written commitment for the available space.
