On the A diamond three games were played: Port Albert Pirates over Dungannon 8-1; Benmiller over Lanes 15-7 and Blyth B Liners over Kingsbridge 8-8.‘ There were 18 games played on Saturday on the B diamond: Belgrave over Carlow 9- 8; Howsons over Outlaws 17-7; Green Machine over Dungannon 15-14; Lanes beat Ernie's Roadhouse 17-6; Kingsbridge over Carlow 11-6; Crystalizers 12 -Outlaws 8; Nile 8 -Green Machine '6; Lanes over Benmiller and Crystalizers beat Howsons. Saturday night a tension filled game between Nile and the Pirates resulted in a 28-19 score for Nile. On Sunday the fans and teams were back again with the first game plyed between the Town&Country DUNGANNON DOINGS Marla Park, 5R0 -771a Ideal Supply and Chrysler with Ideal Supply being the winner 17-7. Kingsbridge then eliminated Lanes by a 15-5 score. Crystalizers put out Belgrave by a 21-6 score. Nile was eliminated from the finals by Chrysler by a 12-7 score. Most valuable player trophy went to Dan Duncan of the Ideal team while Al Dekker of Kingsbridge was without a doubt the most sportsmanlike player. Gary, Dauphin and the fastball boys from Lucknow did an excellent job of officiating while Al and Carol Nivins did a very fine job of organizing and running the games smoothly. And without the loyal fans, the games would have been very quiet and dull. Social News Clair and Bonnie Hodges, Bradley and Karen are welcomed to the village.
