Charged with selling liquor without
a license. Mr. Wrn. Gillespie was up
before Magistrete W. D. Sanders on
Thursday last and pleaded grtilty to
the cbarge and was fined $100 and
costs or ninety days. Mr, Gillespie was
given three days to raise the money,

first conviction in Exeter for vioia,ting
the law since the Scott Act paseed in
Huron County, but ancording to re-
ports it will not be long before others
will make little contribution to the
town coffers unless there is some
