fall prey to Hoffmeyer bats

meyer's Little Plumbers
Ladies Intermediate
Fastball team made a
clean sweep of their
week's schedule, winning
games against
Moorefield and Waterloo.
Goderich managed to
sneak by Moorefield on
June 12 in Moorefield by a
score of 5-4. Goderich
took a 1-0 lead in.the third
inning with a run from
Heidi. Elliott. They in-
creased their lead by
another three runs in the
next inning with runs by
Sue Kolkman, Carole
Cruikshank, and Jenny
More.
However, Moorefield
answered in the next
inning with four runs on
errors and walks by the
Goderich, ladies 'to tie up
'the score at four apiece.
The winning.run for
Goderich came in the
eighth' inning .when
Carole Cruickshank got a
base hit with two out. She
was brought home on hits
from Jenny More and
Diane Snell.
Pitching for the Hof-
frneyer's Little Plumbers
was Heidi Elliott. She
struck two Moorefield
batters out and allowed
six hits.
Goderich won another
game on Friday evening
in Goderich against
Waterloo again by -one
run, beating them 3-2.
Soccer teams
not faring well
The Goderich B soccer
14. team played at
10 Agricultural Park on'
6 • Saturday and lost to
5 Ingersoll by a score of 5-0.
5 Goderich had many
4 chances on Ingersoll's net
2 but could not connect for
2 a goal, while Ingersoll
managed to capatalize on
their opportunities.
The A team fared a

were thwarted time and
again by Goderich goalie
Mark Alexander who
played a stand -out game.
Eric Mitchell also turned
in a fine performance for
Goderich.

Mary Kelkman, Bev

was a beautiful sunny day
for golfing as the Sunset
hosted the O.L.G.A.
District '`'Ladies tour-
nament. Seventy-six
ladies participated and
Sheila Cameron and Fern
Wylie, from the Wingham
Club, nabbed first place
of the Best Ball 4 -Ball
event. Ellen Connelly and
Rocky Whalen from the
Sunset were runners-up,
and Marg Smith and
Betty Helesic were also
Sunset winners.
Congratulations girls1-
This event ended with a
delicious meal by Mrs.
Miller and prizes donated
to the winners. Thanks
Shirley and Paul for a
super day, also special
thanks should go to Leroy
and Bob for the :terrific
shape the course is in.
Men's Night, the

their pin round) for the
second time in two days.
