championship here
Friday in a decisive 4-0
victdny'over'Mrtchell.
The championship
victory gave :the Vikings,
coached by Randy
McLeod, an undefeated
season record of seven
wins and one tie in eight
games. The Vikings
scored 31 goals over their
season while giving up
only 10.
Joe Morrissey,
referred to as the "most
underrated player" by
coach McLeod, led the
Vikings with two goals.
His obvious hustle and
-desire -seemed -to--inspire
the Vikings to keep
running and they totally
dominated the game
from start'to finish.
Mitghell:- ..seldom -,, was—
able to gain control of the
ball as the Vikings
pressed them throughout
the game.
Mike Wedlock, who
controlled the centre of
the forward line with his
strong play, scored
another of the Viking
goals. Colin "the Wall/'
Alexander, a player with,
perhaps the highest skill
level of any on the field,
scored the other Goderich
goal.
Alexander, along with
Dave McDonald gave the
Vikings strong defence up

shots on goal.
Mid -fielders Dave
. MacDonald and Scott
Bell controlled the sides
of the field, ,stopping the
Mitchell forwards from
penetrating the Viking
half of the pitch.
Karl Krohmer, the
Vikings leading scorer
over the season, was
double -teamed by Mit-
chell and was held
scoreless, but he set up
several fine opportunities
for his teammates. Jim
MaeDon-ald tts-ed -his
offensive speed ef-

to keep the Mitchell
defence off-balance. He
