Sailors flat in first gam

The Goderich Sailors
are in a big hole.
The Sailors are down
two games in their best -
of -seven semi-final series
with Dresden and it's a
hole they may never get
out of.
The speedy Dresden
Lumber Kings :won the
opening game. or'th
series 7-2 at home last
Friday and here Sunday
they whipped the Sailors
10-4 to take a two -game
lead in the series.
The third game of the
series will be played in
Dresden Wednesday and -
the fourth is scheduled
for the Goderich Com-
munity Centre Friday at
8.30 p.m.
The Sailors were flat in.
the first game following
their emotional win in the
seventh " game against
Lucknow last Monday.
Dresden took advantage
of the situation 'and
scored three -third period
goals in the 7-2 victory.
The Lumber Kings led
1-0 after the first period
and increased the margin
to 4-1 after two periods.
They outscored Goderich
3-1 in the final period.

first Sailor goal con-

the Dresden lead to 3-1 at
that time. The Sailors
trailed 4-1 in the final

the minor hockey
execitive and supporters°
club and parents the
Suncoast Atoms aYi•d
Lakeport Steel bantams
enjoyed a successful
weekend of hcokey with
their visitors from
Montreal.
Off the ice, many close
bonds and friendships
were formed between the
billeted boys of both
hockey clubs.
On the ice, as far as the
bantam teams were
concerned, things were
fairly even. The two
bantam teams put on a
fine display of hockey and
split .__the.. three -game -.
series right down the
middle.
Mixed
Bowling
ends
season
Friday Night Mixed
Bowling ended its regular
season with the Six Pack
team finishing in first
place with a total of 107
points.
In second place we're
the B.G.s with 98 points,
followed by the Pin Heads
with 80 and the Gobblers
with; 74.
After two weeks of
playoffs, the last place
Gobbler team made a
clean sweep and took the
championship with 6404
points.
