AAP and Zebrs.
Last year's bike-a-thon
attracted 53 riders who

Canadian Cancer Society.
The Goderich Kinsmen
and Kinettes, who are
organizing the , event
again, .are hoping for
even more riders- and
money this year. They
are also encouraging
family participation. Any
child under 12 must be
accompanied by an adult.
Rest centres will be set
up at the Kinsmen Centre
and Judith Gooderham
Park. Pop and cookies
will be provided at the
end of the ride.

For the third straight year Claude Jeanotte of
Agawa Canyon had the distinction of being the first
captain in the port of Goderich. Mayor .Harry
Worsell and Elsa Haydon were on hand for the
presentation of the chain of office and the fitting of
the ceremonial top hat. Jeanotte was also presented
with gifts. The Agawa Canyon arrived at 10.45 a.m.

'•1•11vitonday from Sarnia and was loaded with 18,000
tons of salt from the.Domtar Sifto-Salt Mine before
heading for Thunder Bay Monday evening. The
Agawa Canyon is 646 feet 'long and 72 feet wide and
weighs .16,390 gross tons. On.Sunday afternoon the

thday by holding a
Euchre, 500 and crokinole
party in MacKay Hall.
Winners of prizes were

The new Provincial
Offences Act went into
effect on Monday of this
week. Anyone charged
with a non -criminal of-
fence will now get a new -
form of ticket. Goderich
Police Chief Pat King
says brochures outlining
the new act are available
at the police station and
town hall.
Chief King also
reminds people to carry
proof of vehicle insurance
with them at all times.
