honored by • the
congregation of Knox
Presbyterian Church on
Monday evening at a
special pot luck supper
upon his retirement as
pastoral visitor and
assistant to the RFverPnrt-
G.L. Royal.
Following the supper
and a program of several
musical selections, Mr.
and_Mrs ..-McC:a-limn wore
presented with a gran-
dfather clock by Gordon
McManus, clerk of the
session, on behalf of the
congregation.
In his tribute to Mr.
McCallum, Mr. Royal
called him a man of honor
and honesty who is loyal
to his Lord. He stated that
Mr. McCallum has been a
good friend and a devout
and earnest Christian as
well as an able servant
over thepast seven and
one-half years. He also
thanked Mrs. McCallum
for the faithful support
she gives to her husband.
"Long may they thrive
and dwell among us," he
concluded.
John Stringer, chair-
man for the evening, said
Mr. McCallum had made
a lasting contribution as a --
pastoral visitor and that
he is the embodiment of
Christian duty.
Mr. McCallum and his
tvrfe, Ora, came to-
God'erich from
Rochester, New York in
1968. M'r. McCallum had
been forced to take a,
leave of absence from his
pastorate in Rochester
due to ill health and his
son, Bob, asked him to
help with his funeral
business here
Mr. McCallum said he

The Reverend Peter
Hamel, National Affairs
Secretary of the General
Synod of the Anglican
Church of Canada,
recently described three
exciting experimental

About three years ago
the Unit wrote 'to all 30

parish buildings. The
sites named in the

chosen. They were the
Anglican Conference
Centre. at Sorrento,
British. Columbia;

London, Ontario and the
Church of the Apostles in
Moosonee on the shores of
lames Bay.
Father Hamel is most
enthusiastic about the
project in the north.
"There' are some really
exciting plans for the
Church of the Apostles in
Moosonee, he said,
"they are planning an
addition to the church in
which they will be putting
day-care facilities and
other rooms that can be
used not only by the
parish, but also the
community. Built into the
design will be solar
collector panels in the
roof and also a tower to
take a wind -generating
system which' Paddy
Doran himself is
designing."
The Reverend Paddy

knowledgeable about
alternative energy
systems, but having
recently completed his
theological studies, was
