Winners in the Zone C-1 level of competition included, front row, left ro right, junior speakers (Grades 4 to 6), first, Susan Walsh, from Blyth Public School; second, Kim McKay, Kincardine Township Public School; third, Leslie ten Pas, Hillcrest Public School, Teeswater. In the senior division for Grades 7 and 8, top place winners were, back row, Jeff McNalrn, Hullett Central; Chuck Egener, Colborne Central; Andrea McGregor, Wingham Public School. The first place winners now go onto district competition hi Mount Forest. The senior winners for Grades 11 to 13 included, back row, Gail Horton, CHSS; Rick Kloss, Seaforth District High School; Jack Whytock, F. E. Madill, Wingham. Amy Olson will be registered at St. Joseph's, Kingsbridge. Kathie Stanbury attended the annual Hairdresser's Convention in Toronto 'on March 1st weekend. The parade committee held a meeting at the home of John and Kathie Stanbury on February 27. Invitations, to join the parade on August 2, 1980 during the birthday celebrations have been sent out to local businesses and individuals. It is hoped that any interested persons will contact a Member of the committee. Mrs. Graham McNee ac- comanied Mr. and Mrs. Kit- chener Finnigan to London last Sunday to visit Mr. and Mrs. Allan McNee and fam- ily. The Lucknow Bantam hockey team, of which Jamie Bere, Mike Austin and Dwayne Rivett are members, lost t� Wainfleet in a game played in Lucknow on Satur- day. This eliminates them from playoffs, but they are to take part in a tournament during winter break. The Willing Workers group met at the home of Penny Hodges on Thursday. March the 6th. Mrs. Nancy Phillips, a former resident, and daugh-'• ter of Ben and Margaret Mole, is a patient in West- minster Hospital, London, following surgery on Friday. ' - Two local ladies, Mrs. Brenda Fancy and Mrs. Flor- ence Berry, although both live in the village, did not know each other. Following a recent hospital stay, that has all changed. They were ad- mitted to Goderich hospital the same day, had surgery the same day and were dis- charged the same day. While in the hospital they shared• the, same room and enjoyed getting to know each other. Brenda McNee stayed with hei• grandparents, Graham and Bessie . McNee, and brother, Craig stayed with Dave and Sharon Dawson; while their mother, Angel McNee attended the funeral. of a relative in•Sudbury last week. Mrs. Joy Vella of Clinton spent the weekend with Graham and Bessie McNee. Judy. and George Smyth and Nancy and Neil Staple- ton returned on Sunday from a one week trip to Freeport', The Bahamas, with nice sun tans.
