The week prior to that, several car batteries were also stolen from vehicles around town. Police Chief Pat .King advises that if you have a vehicle with a hood that can easily be , opened from the outside, put an identifying mark of some kind on your battery for .recovery purposes It is not enough to simply know the brand name. This i's the 'time of year when car battery thefts are at their peak. Thfeves have been siphoning gas from vehicles around town lately as well. The police are asking for the. public's co-operation in' reporting anything suspicious they might see in connection with this. • Now that the snow is here, sarne children have started the dangerous practice of bumper riding.
