Committee decided to
recommend a 1980 budget
of $112,500 to town council
when it met last Wed-
nesday evening.
The airport budget or
,• 1979 was $91,759.
However, the - sub-
committee which drew up
y earLs .budget,
pointed out that $11,500 of
the 1980 budget is for the
air" show which is com-
pletely offset by revenue
and another $5,000 is for
interest- on the lot to be
purchased in 1981.
Stihtracting. : these two
figures froth the total
makes 'the 1980r budget
$96,000,* a :4.6 per eent
increase over the 1979
budget.
Dan Murphy, town
-solicitor," was present at
the committee meeting to
discuss tree trimming at
tie ,west end of the
runway. He said that no
progress had been made
with negotiations since
-"the legal representative,
Mr. • was not
-acting for all property
owners and therefore
could not negotiate.
•
The property owners
have indicated that they
want assurance that the
new runway will be built
and Mr. Murphy- stated
that he was not prepared
to give such assurance
and that he was sure that
the town would not agree
to thiVeither.
Mr. Murphy recom-
mended that the town
consider expropriation of
the park since this is the
main problem. He in-
dicated that the park is
not registered in anyone's
name and therefore,
the original ,developer or
by all the land owners in
common. '
• Mr. Murphy indicated
that • the original ex-
propriation was for the
air space and may still be
good. However, he said,
this would -have to be
_test ed _
The airport committee
then passed a motion that
secretary, Ken Hunter,
be authorized to have an
Ontario Land Surveyor

which trees violate-. the

property owners, height
and size of each offending

Mr. Hunter will also
•-obtain the actual, length
of the runway and the
proper diSplacrnents.-
Terry Stewart, co-
oWrj.er of Wrir
Services, appeared
before the com'mittee to
discuss the possibility of
a discount on fuel for his
business. He said the
business expected to use
approximately 51,700
gallons of fuel in 1980.
In the past, the
business has bought its
fuel at various airports
but if adiscount could be
obtaine&alf fuel in future
would be purchased at
the Goderich Airport, -Mr.
Stewart told the com-
mittee.
He also said that his
firm assists the Goderich
