stciction in the west end of town and

eetS ;which will be reconstructed in-
McDonald Street from Raglan Street
riitani!lia Road in 1986, and in 1987,
Street from Raglan to Britannia
";';,Raglan Street from South to
. McDonald. In 1987 and 1988, McDonald,
Keays and Raglan Streets will be given the
top coat of asphalt. Neighborhood im-
provements to streets and sidewalks will
also be done in 1988.
Soft services will include $60,000 to be
• spent in 1986 on the acoustical treatment of
the Goderich arena and $20,000 tote spent
in 1987 on the ball diamond bleachers in the
agricultural park.
After the input of 60 residents of the af-
fected area at the public meeting, the
allocation of $70,000 in 1988 towards pro-
perty purchased and the parking lot at the
agricultural park and an'extra $10,000 for
the bleachers were dropped and the funds
rechannelled into hard services.
"There always seems to be money going
into sports. I suggest we cut it down to a
minimum and put the remainder into the
streets," resident Wayne Lyons said at the
meeting.
A number of residents living on Essex,
Elizabeth, Wellington and Eldon Streets
complained of no sidewalks or curbs. in-
adequate storm sewers and bumpy roads.
Works Commissioner Ken Hunter said
the roads to be reconstructed were chosen
because they need it the most. "There just
isn't enough money to do all the streets,"
he said.
Mayor Eileen Palmer suggested the
residents write letters to council before the
budget is set for 1986 so that some funds
may be allocated towards their com-
plaints.
"You have priority because you're here
tonight voicing your concerns," she said.
