Reverend Kim Dykstra was installed as the head of the church on Oct. 20. Mr. Dykstra attended seminary college in Forl Wayne Indiana. After he graduated college, he waited for a post and he was sent to Goderich. He brought his wife Cathy and his two sons Ben and Andy with him from the United States. Mr. Dykstra enjoys Goderich and he is looking forward to working with the members of his congregation. Ruth's 1 group was dressed in Korean costumes with Marie Hughes as tour guide. Grace Hunter, Esther Blackwell and Audrey Sprung were hostesses. Tapes of a Korean Children's Choir were played, while the ladies were served Korean food. The study book this year has been "Korea" and the trip was an excellent op- portunity to hear Mrs. Lorna Kild, ,an ex- change delegate to Korea, tell of tier ex- periences there. She showed many beautiful slides and spoke of the courage and great Christian faith of the Korean people. CWL bazaar. • • prize winners The St. Peter's Church Catholic Women's League held its annual Christmass Bazaar Saturday, Oct. 26 in the parish hall. Prize winners at the bazaar included: Michelle Jarvis, Windsor, Cabbage Patch Doll with $100 in bills; Pat Mathews, Chatham, gift certificate at Bedford Hotel; Myrna Palmer, Goderich, Afghan; Marg Evans, Goderich, silk flower arrangement from Denomme's and Christopher Slater, Goderich won a stuffed Humpty dumpty. Sandy Mathers won a pumpkin. Coffee break bible meetings to be held What Is Coffee Break? It is a community Bible. Study program which which uses the inductive study method. Its chief purpose is evangelism. The atmosphere in the groups is kept low-key: group members are en- couraged to discover for themselves what the Bible has to say. Where Are Coffee Break Meetings Held? Though there are neighborhood groups which meet in homes, the majority of Coffee Break groups meet in local churches. The advantages include availability of facilities for children and the opportunity to build a bridge from community to church. • How Many Churches Are Involved? Over twenty denominations throughout the United States, Canada, Australia, the Netherlands, Nigeria, and South Africa have Coffee Break Bible studies. Well over 500 churches have Coffee Break programs. Teens, young adults, and senior citizens are also suc- cessfully involved in some areas. How Large Are Individual Groups within a Church? Approximately eight to twelve is the ideal size. If a group grows beyond that, it should divide in order to encourage new members. As a result, many churches have several groups meeting simultaneously. What Materials Do Coffee Break Groups Use? Most groups use DISCOVER YOUR BIBLE materials. These are written especially to suit Coffee Break's evangelistic purpose. A full range of study guides and leader guides are available. For those involved in correlated children's ministries an organization manual and six complete teaching units are provided. How Successful Is Coffee Break? Very! Many ordinary church members are being used by God to lead others to Jesus Christ. Most churches that have a women's daytime program provide a structured STORY HOUR for three to five year olds, as well as a nursery for infants and toddlers.
