Despite Hydro's lengthyand harmonious • "marriage" with the con- servative government ending so abruptly, they are making headway toward a cosy "common-law" relationship with the Liberals. Hydro did have a severe case of the jitters when the Liberal party first took office - however, now the "watchdog" committee on Hydro includes two, true blue, former energy ministers, one as chairman, things appear well under control. Even Premier Peterson soothed some of Hydro's jangling nerves by stating that Darlington may be too close to completion for cancellation to be feasible - an abrupt reversal of the premier's statement to the Legislature on July 2. Juvenile centre is a big mistake reader says Dear editor. As one of the three families affected by the escape of three youths from the Bluewater Centre, I want to thank the councillors for their concern. A window was opened, a screen was pried off and my purse was taken ( with about $30 ). Our car was pushed 50 yards on a perimeter road and attempts were made to start it. Because the car is old, it has some starting quirks and failed to start. My husbanu, who is 84 years old, and I, 78 years of age, did not awaken. I'm glad we didn't. There was an open can of cooking spray lying near where my purse was hanging and the wire on the intercom next to our phone had been cut. We think these youths are dangerous. Our front door was unlocked and they probably went out that way. Attempts were made to take a car from neighbours four cottages north of us who were home. We have never been notified that the third escapee was caught. Our son came from Michigan quickly and left his dog here with us so we can sleep at night. Thank the Lord he also found my car and house keys where they had been thrown. This has been our summer home since 1966 and we've always felt safe here. Hopefully, it will be that way again. We feel that the establishment of the juvenile centre was a mistake.
