THE HARBOUR IN 1867
The Port of Goderich has a long history as a grain transfer point,.
In 1866, the Grand Trunk Railway constructed the first Goderich Grain Elevator. with
storage for 60,000 bu. Foreseeing the Port of Goderich as a molar transportation link
to the east coast.

In the 1910's as Ontario became an exporter of locally grown crops. Goderich
Elevators became involved.
Today these export shipments of Ontario corn, wheat and barley to many parts of the
world account; for more than 50% of ours business. When
