High School. This is on everyone's mind.
It will be terrific. But, it is a big step in life
which might be harder than everybody ex-
pects.
Suddenly thoughts of our previous year
come to mind and we realize what we're
leaving behii'fi. The shelter of our school,
the teachers which have been like parents to
us, and some friends. are left, but we have
been prepared like a fine tuned machine and
this big step will not be quite as hard.
If we were to be looked at as a machine we
would realize that most machines need
mechanics. Our teachers have played the
part extremely well and have built us into
what we are now.
We have learned to respect other people in
our life. We have been taught to take on the
role of a leader so that we might set an ex-
ample for younger people. Co-operation,
friendship and morality have been taught to
us and we have begun to use these concepts
to their fullest.

But, our techers are not thought of as
mereinstructors or a malefactor. They are
thought of as friends who would go out of
their way to help us, whether it be a simple
math concept or a complete examination of
our conscience. They help us prepare for
our journey through life, and in doing so,
gain our respect.
I like to think of teachers as enforcers of
values. And it must be agreed that in all
fairness we much thank our teachers that
have been so much like guardians to us.
Still, though, we also look forward in our
•ife. What does our future hold in store for
As? As we mature, these and many more
answers unfold for us.
Decisions will be made in upcoming
years. Decisions which will affect our lives.
What will I be? Will I play an important role
in the drama we call life? Or will I be one of
the audience?
Only we can control the outcome of these
things. And we can, whether we need help
