Togetherness is important part of school memories
by CHRISTINE CONNELLY
First of all, I would like to say how very
proud I am to represent the.1985 graduating
class of St. Joseph's School, Kingsbridge.
It seems like only yesterday that we
boarded the great yellow bus for the very
first time. It was to be the beginning of nine
of our happiest year. Throughout the
homework, the projects, the tests, the ex-
ams, we have survived, and are much better
people for having done so.
We have stuck together.
Together we have participated in school
sports, Christmas concerts and 50's days.
Together we have worked to raise school
funds at dances, a skip-a-tbon, magazine
campaigns and hot dog days.
Together we have marched in fall fairs
and to our buses.
Together we have prayed and received
sacraments in this very church.
Our priests, our teachers, our principals

have been second to none. They have
always been there for us, ready to help us
learn and cope with life's ups and downs.
Sometimes, more downs than ups.
There were many stormy winter days
when our prayers were answered and the
buses somehow got us home. The thought of
eating cold beans and sleeping on the gym
floor was unbearable.
Do you remember us dressing for the 50's
days? Remember rooting through attics
and cellars to find relics from the olden days
and listening to our parents reminisce about
those good old days?
On birthdays I'm sure you can. remember
being put over the teacher's knees and get-
ting spanked. That hurt our poor `derriere'
as we would say in French. Then the class
would all sing Happy Birthday.
I can remember public speaking days.
Whether it was saying a speech or a poem,
