The opening of the Drop-in Centre for Diabetics on June 3rd was well attended. Resource people present were Sandra Bain, Fund Raising Co- ordinator, Candian Diabetic Association, London; Rick Payne, President, Huron -Bruce Branch of C.D.A.; and Barb Guse, Dietician, Alexandra and Marine General Hospital. This centre for Diabetics is the first of its kind in Ontario, and will be open the third Monday of each month, downstairs, at MacKay Centre. Popular Sunday evening concerts return to Lions Harbour Park June 30 The very popular Sunday evening Lions' Harbor Park Concerts will commence on June 30. The music of the Goderich Laketown Band will be heard at the opening concert with Doug Bundy as Master of Ceremonies. Featured soloists will be tenor John De Jager, trumpeter Lisa Argyle and sax- ophonist (band conductor) Blake Smith. The Laketown Band has been most for- tunate in acquiring the services of the large and talented Meadowvale Concert Band from Mississauga for the concert of July 7. This will be the first concert this band has presented outside the Mississauga - Toronto area. Four additional groups will likewise be making their debut during the '85 season. The award winning Strathroy Legion Pipe Band will be heard on July 28 and sharing the -program will be the unique instrumental Drake Trio, featuring twin brothers on violins and their sister on piano. One of the highlights of Country and Western Night, Aug. 4, will be the music of the Country Companions. Not new to the area but making their first appearance at the Harbor Park bandstand will be the popular "Expressions" on Aug. 18.
