the rain -plagued Huron -Perth high school track meet in Goderich Wednesday. In the above

Maitland Club highlights
Food, fun, and fashions were the
highlights of the evening on Wednesday;
May 8th at the Maitland. About 80 ladies of
the golf and tennis section enjoyed a
delicious dinner prepared by new chef, Ben
Merritt.
Later in the evening, the ladies had their
wardrobe "tastebuds" tempted by
"Fashions by Rosemary's"
Twenty-eight ladies golfed May 14th•and
winners in the first flight were Maxine Mar-
tin, Marie Huff and Ardith Brissette; second
flight;- Rosemarie Evans, Jean Bell, Jean
Knight, Bev Jeffrey and Marg Evans and
third flight: Sally MacEwan, Bud Elliott,
Chris Hoffineyer, Lyn Edward and Pauly
McKellar.
On May 28th. following ladies' golf and
dinner (about 8:30 pm) there will be an
evening -of -bridge. Everyone is welcome and
if enough interest shown, it will become a
weekly event.
Fabulous weather for men's night as 35
men turned out and scores were pretty good
for so early in the season. Jack Trebish won
first low net with 30, while Tony Bedard
won Low Gross. Other winners were Ron
Patterson, Jack Hinton, Q Egener, Bill Han-
ly, and Dave Cornish. Closest to the pin (5 )
was Bob Shrier.
The fluke shot of the night was by John
Alexander. On the first hole his shot went to '
the left of the green but was nowhere in
sight. Steve Durst finally found it lodged in a
branch about two feet off the ground John
wisely took an unplayable lie.
