Two musical groups from Goderich District Collegiate Institute
will provide some big band dance music for Tropical Nights, an
evening of dancing planned for Saturday, Apr. 27. The school's
talented stage band and jazz choir will provide the evening's music.

operating their own summer businesses
Interest-free loans up to $2,000 are
available for student entrepreneurs who
• wish to plan and operate their own summer
business, Ernie Eves, Minister of Skills
Development, and Phil Gillies, Minister for
Youth announced today.
The Student Venture Capital.program .is
co-sponsored by the Ontario Chamber of
Commerce and the Royal Bank of Canada
and is part of Ontario Youth Opportunities,
a series of special youth employment and
experience initiatives -of the Ministry of
Skills Development.
"Student Venture Capital has been suc-
cessful over the past 12 years because of the
co-operation and support of the Royal Bank
of Canada and the Ontario Chamber of Com-
merce",
ommerce", Mr. Eves said.
"The Royal Bank's contribution to helping
young people is an example for others in the
private sector to follow", added Mr. Gillies.
The co-sponsors provide promotional,
educational and consultative services dur-
ing the planning and operational stages of
the venture. "These young people will be
tomorrow's leaders," said Ontario Chamber
of Commerce president Bill Wallace, "and
we want to help prepare them for tomor-
row's responsibilities."
"The Royal Bank is proud to be co-
sponsoring this program and to support en-
trepreneurship in Ontario", said Bob
Gulliford, vice-president of the Royal Bank.
"Over the years we have seen a variety of
businesses established ranging from pain-
ting and Jandscaping to travelling magic
shows and computer software design".
To date applications are coming in at a
rate 20 per cent faster than last year,
which indicates the program continues to De
popular with young people.
