TheaLe naPsia tion is a.lively,. fun -filled tale
of di boar'd''romance *full of great Cole
Porter songs. Billy (Philip McMillan) ar-
rites ,as the• ship leaves New York for
England and when he discovers that his
dream girl, Hope (Jennifer Bishop) is sail-
ing to he married to Sir Evelyn Oakleigh
(Frank MacDonald), he stows away.
Also on board are Moonface Jactle
Mlle Enemy No. 13 (Earl Salter) and his
gill Friday Bonnie (Kathleen Hamilton)
who assistBilly'in, his attempts to steal back
his girl. Also , helping Billy are ' Reno
Sweeney (Joyce Kuran) . and her four
`fallen' angels. (Tina Asp, Nissa Howe,
Laura Wark and Robin Wark). Other com-
ical figures .,ere Hope's mother, (Jenny
Black) and Billy's boss (Doug Bundy).
The cast of over 40 members include both
new and experienced G.L.T. performers
and are backed by an excellent eight piece
pit band.
The play will be staged at The Livery
February 20 through 24, . It is directed by
Eleanor Robinson..
Anything Goes, the fun and song -fined tale of shipboard romance will be presented by the '
Goderich Little Theatre troupe February 20-24 at The Livery. One of the most ambitious
musicals undertaken by the group, the cast includes more than 40 actors, dancers and

Anne McLean -will give benefit
performance at Blyth Festival
The Blyth Festival welcomes Anne
McLean who 'will be giving a benefit perfor-
mance en Tuesday, February, 19 et 8:00 p.m.
The programme, consisting of works by
Handel, Scarlatti, Haydn, Brahms and
Canadian composer 'Barbara Pentland, is
certain to delight musical enthusiasts.
A resident of London, Qntario, Anne
McLean studied piano at the University of
Calgary. Sbe received scholarships to con-
tinue her education in both- Salzburg and .
Geneva under the guidance of Carlos Zeechi
and Eduardo Vercelli. During this period
she performed concert's in many parts of
Switzerland, France and Austria. Since
returning to Canada, she has resumed her
career as soloist, teacher and adjudicator.
She has given many recitals in western
Canada and has broadcast on CBC radio. At
present, she is completing her doctorate in
musical arts at the University of British Col-
umbia.
Anne .McLean's performance of work by
Handel and Scarlatti is a particularly apt
way to begin 1985 on. the Blyth stage since
this year marks the tricentenary of their
births. To. ,help celebrate, the Festival has
set special prices for this benefit: $3.60 per
adult, $5.00 per family and only 11.00 for
