Big Brothers Bowl for Millions
The North Huron Big Brothers Association sponsored its first Bowl for Millions last week to
raise funds for the group's activities. Saturday was Celebrity Day at Little Bowl and a host
of big and little brothers and friends helped raise over $3,500 in pledges for the association.
As evidenced by the above photos, _the participating little brothers took their bowling
seriously and displayed fine form. Below, Mayor Eileen Palmer and Linda Hruden and Den-
nis Little of the association kicked off Celebrity Day by bowling the opening frame. The.
celebrity of the day had to be Simon Langlois who raised 5843 in pledges while Marj Moore
chipped in with 5352 in pledges for the association. The money will be used for weekend cam-
ping trips and the group's annual picnic. (photos by Dave Sykes)

There was a certain amount ofjuggling
m the chess club standings after tallying
up last week's wins and losses. The most
significant move was Mark Maurer being
catapulted into Level 1_ from Honorary
"member status.
Other changes included Robert Nau'
elevation into Level 3 and Barry Page's
relegation into Level 4. Eric Hallam joined:
the ranks of the most improved players.
Despite a smaller attendance than
usual, fifteen games, including one drawn
match between George Barwick and
Robert Nau, were played. George also
played a cautious game against Louis
Stadelmann. After a great deal of
°✓✓manoeuvring, .Louis was able to check-
mate his opponent. Dave Brown showed
his keenness, because, not even a sprained
leg Injury deterred him from attending the
une
form and won an interesting game against
Dave. Dennis Luiting picked up three wins
'and is gradually rising up the ladder of.
Level 3. Doug Brindley was also victorious
in both games he played.
