A major question facing the -real estate
brokers and sales people is that of .the
economy. Which way is it headed? To help
answer that and other questions, broad-
caster Brian Costello and three economic
specialists will kick off the Conference with
an interview/analysis format production.

nion Securities Pitfield, Sain Hughes, presi-
dent of the Canadian,' Chamber of Com-
merce, and Norman. Godfrey, President of
the Toronto Home Builders Association, will
Join Costello in this blue-ribbon panel. Their
discussions and analysis will kick off the
Conference _on Sunday, February 17 at 9
a.m.
In all, more than 1,800 delegates are .ex-
pected to attend the two-day function and
will represent all parts of the province.
Among other speakers scheduled for the
conference are author/psychologist
Richard Flint, sales specialist Hank Trisler,
and motivational expert Alan Jacobson.
A highlight of the Conference will be 'the
election and installation of a new President
for the 30,000 -member Association. In keep-
ing with recent OREA history, the new
President will be available for interviews
and will hold a news conference on Monday,
February 18 at 10 a.m. At that time, he is ex-
pected to release a study on rent controls
which is OREA's response to the recently
completed Phase .One report of the Thom
Commission.

delegates will participate in workshops and

1984 was another • good year for Ontario
Hydro's nuclear units.
Led 'by the four units at the. Bruce -"A"
Nuclear Generating Station, Hydro's'
nuclear stations operated at an average 76
per cent capacity factor for the year.. All
four Bruce units operated at least 90 per
cent of the time, with mat 4 having a 98.2 per
cent capacity factor.
Unit 6 at Bruce "B", which was declared
in-service September 14, was running 99,5
per cent of the time during the last three and
a half months of the year.

While building was only 25 per cent com-
plete by the end of 1984, 'ten CN Towers -
worth of concrete — about 400,000 cubic
meters — had already been poured. Much of
that concrete has been reinforced with steel
— 61,000 tonnes to date. Structural steel, too,
abounds. So far, the Darlington framework
contains as much of -the alloy as is found in
20,000 new cars. About 4,000 workers are
now employed at the site.

tions cover the essentials of the trade, from
live line work to first aid and communica-
'tion.- Line crews in other parts of the pro-
vince have begun to call SokoIowski and
Towns to order Six Paks.
Three hundred and fifty nine clubs and
organizations in the province requested an
Ontario Hydro volunteer speaker in 1984.
Talking on their own time, the Hydro
employees addressed about 20,000 people in
all, on subjects ranging from electrical safe-
ty to nuclear power to careers for women in
science industries.
Lighting the Falls
It cost about $112,000 to illuminate
Niagara's Horseshoe and American Falls in
1984.. Ontario Hydro will donate the $16,500
worthof electricity needed to light the
cascades' lights, with the rest of the year-
end bill being shared between the Canadian
and American cities of Niagara Falls and
each country's respective Niagara parks
commissions.
Electricity demand
Warmer weather in December 1984 caus-
ed peak demand for electricity to fall almost
four per cent from December 1983, to an
estimated 18 million kilowatts. December
1984 energy consumption, .10.2 billion
kilowatt-hours, also declined by four per
cent from a year ago due to the mild
