Clinton opened the scoring early thein
game, butwhen Goderich tied the score with
a goal from Doug Kellough, assisted by Jima
my Kelly, they never looked back. Goderieh
went ahead 2 - 1 with a goal .from Jimmy,
Kelly, assisted by Dave Brown.
-In the second period, Goderich came on
strong again. with twn goals. Brad Fisher
scored unassisted at the 36 second mark.
Mike Rom,pPf scored from Morash at the
1412 -mark. Clinton responded with two

favour.
In period three, Goderich started their
final bombardment when Roti Dempsey
scored, unassisted. Clinton had tied, the
score previously. Dempsey's goal 'came as
the tie breaker and Goderich stayed ahead
for the remainder of the game.
Shortly after Dempsey's goal, Kelly
scored unassisted, At the 9:37 mark Kelly
scored again this time from Greg DeWinter
and graharnOlousher.

Clinton managed one more goal at 13:03,
Strong goaltending by Shawn Currie and
Todd Kellough, plus the excellent defensive
hockey'skills of all their teammates core
tributed to this well-deserved win. Jimmy
Kelly led his teammates with one assist and
a hat trick.
Juvenile Stars, edge St. Marys 3-2
Goderich Signal Star Juveniles edged St
Marys 3-2 in a Shamrock League hockey
-game, played December 23, in Goderich. •
The Stars had to come from behind for
the win, as St. Marys led 2-1, early in the
second period. Goderich struck for the

Graham pass for the. goal.

period ended and added another early in
• the second, before Goderich scored two
unanswered second -period markers to
secure the win.

Atoms win in Exeter
The Goderich Atoms participated in a
tournament • in Exeter on Thursday
December 27. The local squad beat New •
Hamburg 4-2, before bowing out after a 4-2
loss to Blenhiem.
"Goderich trailed through Most of • the
New Hamburg game, as New Hamburg
scored one in the first period and the se-
cond period was scoreless. New Hamburg—.
scored their second goal -early in the third,
before Goderich came back with I four
unanswered goals.

scored a goal and an assist, while li d -.
Papple and Jason Jeffrey each scored
once.
Goderich led Blenhiem 2-1 after the se-
- cond period, but were kept off the
scoreboard in the third, while Blenhiem
struck for three.. -
• Paul Wheeler scored both Goderich
goals. Jeff Beange and Jason Cook
assisted on the first goal.
Wheeler was • chosen as outstanding
player of the game and received a hockey
stick for his efforts. He scored one goal
while' playing right wL.g and another while
pia Ing -defence,•.__..
Pee Weestie Exeter
In Pee Wee hockey action at the local
arena last Saturday, the *Goderich Lions
.and'Exeter played to a 2 - 2 tie in fast chip -
contest - - -
Tim Harrison • opened the scoring for
Goderich, when he tipped a Kevin Moss
shot from the point. Moss had received a
pass from Chris O'Neill. •
Midway through the second period, Jeff
Hodges scored high on the glove side, after
taking a perfect pass from Andre Cauchi
and Doug Rivers, upping the count to 2- OE. -
The Lions had countless . scoring
-chances, that would have secured'a win for
thein, but they did not ;connect and as a
result, Exeter stayed close, then tallied on
their' opportunities in the third period.
• The Lions received a strong team effort
again and continue to skate very well. With'
continued efforts in the new year, they will : -
remain a top contender..
Novices skate to 3-3 draw
Goderich Novice - A's hosted- Exeter _ on
December 22. The teams skated to an ex-
citing 3 - 3 tie _ , .
Goderich opened the scoring with the only
goal of the first period. It was a "beauty"
scored by Jeff Klages assisted by Lee
Williamson.
Early' in the second period Exeter struck
back for two quick goals, and took the lead.
Shortly after , Exeter's second goal,
Goderich tied it up when Jason Meriam
scored trom-David Lumley.
Tn the third -period, Goderich went -ahead -
-after an outstanding effort byBrian Hodges..
He scored unassisted at the 3:38 mark of•the • .• "•
third.period. • -
Exeter 'managed to tie the game mid -way
'through thethird period.
Mike McBride, played impressive, defen-
sive,hockey during this game.
