Glazed Strawberry Squares
"rz cup butter
One-third cup brown sugar, firmly packed
"/z cup sifted all-purpose flour
4 cups strawberries (1 qt. box )
4 tsp. cornstarch
3/4 cup sugar
Dash of salt
1/4 cup water
2 tsp. lemon juice
1 or 2 drops red food coloring
"/z pt. sweetened whipped cream
Cream butter and sugar.Bake untillight

Crush 1 cup berries. Bring to a boil and press through a
sieve.
Mix cornstarch, sugar, water and juice. Bring to a boil,
stirring until thick and clear, about 3 minutes.
Cool. Add lemon juice and tint witii food coloring. Ar-
range the remaining strawberries on cooled base, coat
with glaze, Chill. Cut in squares and top with whipped

Lemon Dessert Squares
Base :
21/2 cups fine graham crumbs
y cup white sugar
One-third cup melted butter
Filling:
6 -oz. pkg. lemon jello
1 cup boiling water
2 envelopes Dream Whip
1 cup white sugar including liquid
1-19 oz. can crushed pineapple
1 cup colored miniature marshmallows ( optional) .
Make base, reserve 3/4 cup crumbs for topping. Press
remainder crumbs in bottom of 9"x13" pan. Bake for 101
minutes in oven at 300 degrees F. Let cool.
Dissolve jello in boiling water and chili till syrupy. in
meantime, prepare the Dream Whip until thick. Stir in
sugar, pineapple and liquid syrupy lemon jello and mar-
shmallows. Mix thoroughly. Pour over cooled crumbs
base. Sprinkle reserved crumbs on top. Refrigerate
